EV Charger Installation
Driving an electric vehicle will change the way you think about “filling up” your car. Imagine never having to stop at a gas station again – and instead, having an unlimited supply of fuel available at home.
Residential EV charging stations come in many shapes, sizes and capabilities. Through our exclusive partnership with Enel X we offer JuiceBox 40 Amp Level 2 electric vehicle chargers to EV owners across the United States.
Our EV Installation Process
Professional installation is required for 40 Amp Hardwired chargers and for 40 Amp 14-50 Plug In chargers if you do not already have a 240 volt outlet.
Click through the four steps below to learn what you can expect during the installation process.
1) Site Assessment
2) Permitting
3) Installation
4) Demonstration
1
Site Assessment
Hiring a licensed electrician to access your Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) installation site is required for Level 2 installation.
Your EVSE expert will assess your electrical panel and/or wiring to determine what requirements need to be met to charge your electric vehicle at home with a fast, Level 2 charger.
2
Permitting
Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) that must be wired directly to the electrical system is referred to as Level 2, and these installations will require a permit.
3
Installation
Next, the charger is fixed to the wall, a cable is run from the unit to the main power supply, and it will be activated for use.
Your Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) expert will then connect the charger to Wi-Fi and pair it with the appropriate App.
After your charger has been installed, you or your EVSE installation expert will arrange for your city to inspect the charging station to ensure it meets all requirements.
4
And Done!
Your Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) installation expert will give you a full demonstration of your charger, what the different lights mean and how to get support if you have any questions.
Ask your EVSE installation expert to assist with completing the final paperwork for rebate incentives if you qualify.
Finally, you will want to learn how to find public chargepoints in your area.
